Seshd Privacy Policy

Seshd ("the app", "we") is a workout tracking and fitness social app. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

Information you provide

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name. Authentication is handled by Supabase, our backend provider.
• Workout data. Exercises, sets, reps, weights, RPE ratings, and workout timestamps you log are stored in your account so they sync across sessions and power features like progress tracking, muscle readiness, and strength analysis.
• Profile and social content. Profile details, posts, and workout recaps you choose to share are stored and visible to other users according to the sharing options you select.

Health data (Apple HealthKit)

With your permission, Seshd reads heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, sleep, step count, and active energy from Apple Health. This data is used solely on your device to estimate daily recovery, body battery, and muscle readiness against your personal baseline.

With your permission, Seshd also writes your completed workout sessions back to Apple Health (as Traditional Strength Training, including an estimated calorie burn) so your lifting appears in the Apple Fitness app and contributes to your Activity rings. You can disable this in the iOS Settings app at any time, and Seshd will continue to work without it.

• HealthKit data is processed on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
• HealthKit data is never used for advertising, marketing, or sold to third parties, and is never disclosed to data brokers.
• The one exception to HealthKit data leaving your device is the AI coaching feature described below, and only when you use it: the derived recovery values (heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep duration) are included in the summary sent to Anthropic so the coaching can account for how recovered you are. Raw HealthKit samples are never sent.
• You can revoke access at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health, and the app will continue to work without it.

Information collected automatically

The app stores preferences and cached data locally on your device to function offline and load faster. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or tracking across other companies' apps and websites.

How your data is used

• To provide core app functionality: logging workouts, computing readiness and strength insights, and displaying your history.
• To operate social features: showing posts you choose to share to other users.
• To maintain and secure your account.

Data sharing

We share data only with the service providers required to run the app: Supabase (database, authentication, and storage), Vercel (web hosting), and Anthropic (AI features). These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers.

AI features and Anthropic. Seshd’s coaching features — the weekly review and AI-assisted program suggestions — send a summary of your training to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate that text. What is sent: recent workouts (exercises, sets, reps, weights), personal records, your bodyweight trend, per-muscle training volume, and, if you have connected Apple Health, the recovery values derived from it (heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, and sleep duration). What is not sent: your name, email address, username, profile or progress photos, messages, or any post text. Anthropic processes this on our behalf to return the response and is not permitted to use it to train models. These features run only when you use them; if you never open the weekly review or the AI program builder, nothing is sent.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below, and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.

Children

Seshd is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
